Why hire a drone pilot? It’s the best way to get aerial photos or video for your project! The FAA requires all drone operations be performed by certified pilots. Hobbyists flying purely for fun can use TRUST certification. However, for any degree of commercial work, you will need a pilot certified to fly under federal regulations (Part 107, sometimes referred to as a “commercial drone license”). That’s where we come in.
We fly in most places in Shasta County. There are some limitations near airports and commercial areas, but fewer than you might think. Don’t hesitate to ask. You might be pleasantly surprised.

Ivy Drone does not provide analysis, but we’ll gladly work with the engineering firm of your choice, providing images and video to your specification.

Site Monitoring
Want to keep an eye on a construction site as time progresses? Make staying on schedule a breeze. Monitoring footage can also be turned into wonderful promotional material.

Services Not Provided
Mapping
We would love to provide mapping services. Unfortunately, it creates an unacceptable legal liability. Between an overreach by the California Board of Engineers and the vagueness of the Land Survey Act, it is legally risky to engage in any mapping activity whatsoever.
We’ll happily work with a licensed land surveyor of your choice. For any other mapping activity, we must demur… even if it isn’t for the purpose of creating a land survey.
Private Investigatory Work
Between the legal minefield, ethical dilemmas, and a non-zero risk to personal safety — this is a complete non-starter.
If you are a licensed private investigator, we wish you well, but you’ll need to find a pilot elsewhere.
